Muton Laurus: Asymmetrical Precision in Sheepskin Design

Choosing a natural rug is about more than just aesthetics; it is about bringing authentic, high-grade materials into a functional living space. The Muton Laurus from Regal Rugs is a sophisticated example of this philosophy. We construct this model using an asymmetrical grid of Muton fur blocks, each defined by a raised Burgundy fur border. Unlike traditional symmetrical patterns, the Laurus uses varying block sizes to create a sense of movement. This architectural approach ensures that the rug acts as a dynamic foundation for any modern interior, rather than a static floor covering.

The structural depth of the Muton Laurus is achieved through a deliberate contrast in pile heights. By using the raised Burgundy strips as dividers, we create a three-dimensional effect that reacts beautifully to ambient lighting. Each segment of this natural rug is hand-assembled to ensure that the density and luster of the sheepskin remain consistent across the entire surface. This meticulous construction method provides a plush, recessive base with a clearly defined frame for every block.

Flexible Customization for Architectural Spaces

Because every high-end project has unique spatial requirements, we offer the Muton Laurus with total flexibility in design. The asymmetrical nature of the repeating units allows us to scale the pattern to fit unconventional floor plans without losing its visual balance. Furthermore, we provide professional clients with two distinct pathways for color selection:

  • Standard Color Palette: You can select from our curated range of ready-to-order tones, ideal for residential or commercial projects with shorter lead times.

  • Custom Bespoke Colors: For designers requiring a precise match, we offer custom-dyeing services. This allows you to specify monochromatic or high-contrast schemes for both the Muton blocks and the raised Burgundy borders.

We manage every stage of production within our own facility, ensuring that every seam and joint meets our rigorous quality control standards. This hands-on approach is what makes our natural rug collection a preferred choice for architects who refuse to compromise on material integrity.

Uncompromising Quality Standards at Regal Rugs

At Regal Rugs, we source only the most premium sheepskin pelts, ensuring a level of density that few global competitors can achieve. This selection process is critical for the longevity of a natural rug, as it allows the fibers to maintain their volume and structure over years of use. Furthermore, our tanning and finishing processes follow strict international environmental protocols. For professionals seeking more information on the global standards of ethical and quality fur processing, we recommend visiting the International Fur Federation website. We invite you to contact us for technical drawings or a custom-sized quote for the Muton Laurus series.

Care & Cleaning

Sheepskin Rugs Care & Cleaning Instructions

UNBOXING
• Use caution when opening the package—do not cut too deeply with sharp tools.
• Creases or folds from shipping are normal. Unfold and lay the rug flat; it will relax over time.

PLACEMENT
• Avoid placing sheepskin rugs in direct sunlight. Natural wool and leather may discolor when exposed to prolonged sunlight.
• Furniture legs (e.g., chairs, coffee tables) can leave dents in the pile. Restore by gently smoothing with your hand or lightly combing the area. Avoid excessive rubbing.
• Keep rugs away from strong artificial light sources (such as spotlights), as they can cause discoloration over time.

CLEANING
• For regular care, sweep, brush, or vacuum with strong suction (without a beater bar). Beater brush vacuums may damage the fibers.
• Wool and sheepskin are naturally stain-resistant, but if a spill occurs:
Blot immediately with an absorbent cloth or paper towel.
Gently clean any residue with a damp cloth and mild soap (e.g., dish soap) or carpet foam.
Do not use harsh chemicals such as bleach, laundry detergent, or vinegar.
Avoid vigorous scrubbing or rubbing.
• For stubborn stains, contact a professional carpet cleaner or dry cleaner experienced with natural sheepskin.

STORING
• Store rugs rolled (not folded), upright, in a cool and dry place when not in use.
