Muton Tetra custom design rug

Custom design rug manufacturing requires technical precision, and our Muton Tetra model is a clear example of this expertise. At Regal Rugs, we construct this rug using a repeating pattern of four Muton fur squares, each measuring 8×8 inches. These individual squares are separated and framed by a raised Burgundy fur border. This grid-like structure repeats across the entire surface of the rug, creating a geometric and tactile layout that adds physical depth.

The construction of the Tetra is based on high-density materials. By using the raised Burgundy fur as a divider, we create a visible contrast in pile height. This technique ensures that even in monochromatic or tone-on-tone color schemes, the pattern remains distinct and architectural. We avoid using printed patterns or artificial textures; instead, the design is built through the physical assembly of high-grade natural pelts.

Technical Modular Design and Customization

The modular nature of the Muton Tetra allows for total flexibility in project planning. Because the 4-block Muton units serve as the base of the design, we can scale the rug to any total dimension required for your space. Furthermore, we provide a wide range of customization options that go beyond standard sizes:

  • Bespoke Color Combinations: While we often produce the Tetra in dark, earthy tones, we can execute this design in any color from our collection. You can specify different colors for the Muton squares and the raised Burgundy borders.

  • Variable Repeating Units: We can adjust the 8×8 inch square size or the width of the Burgundy dividers to meet specific architectural requirements.

  • Edge Finishing: As a specialized manufacturer, we ensure the perimeter of the rug maintains the same raised profile as the internal grid for a consistent look.

Professional Quality Standards at Regal Rugs

At Regal Rugs, we focus on raw material quality that very few competitors can match globally. We select only the most resilient and dense sheepskin pelts to ensure the Tetra maintains its structured grid shape under regular use. Furthermore, our tanning and assembly processes follow strict international guidelines. The durability of our custom design rug collection makes it a preferred choice for high-end residential and commercial projects where material integrity is the priority.

Because we handle every stage of production in our own workshop, we maintain tight quality control over every seam and joint. For more information on the global standards of ethical and quality fur processing, please visit the International Fur Federation website. We invite architects and interior designers to submit their floor plans for a custom-sized Muton Tetra quote.

Care & Cleaning

Sheepskin Rugs Care & Cleaning Instructions

UNBOXING
• Use caution when opening the package—do not cut too deeply with sharp tools.
• Creases or folds from shipping are normal. Unfold and lay the rug flat; it will relax over time.

PLACEMENT
• Avoid placing sheepskin rugs in direct sunlight. Natural wool and leather may discolor when exposed to prolonged sunlight.
• Furniture legs (e.g., chairs, coffee tables) can leave dents in the pile. Restore by gently smoothing with your hand or lightly combing the area. Avoid excessive rubbing.
• Keep rugs away from strong artificial light sources (such as spotlights), as they can cause discoloration over time.

CLEANING
• For regular care, sweep, brush, or vacuum with strong suction (without a beater bar). Beater brush vacuums may damage the fibers.
• Wool and sheepskin are naturally stain-resistant, but if a spill occurs:
Blot immediately with an absorbent cloth or paper towel.
Gently clean any residue with a damp cloth and mild soap (e.g., dish soap) or carpet foam.
Do not use harsh chemicals such as bleach, laundry detergent, or vinegar.
Avoid vigorous scrubbing or rubbing.
• For stubborn stains, contact a professional carpet cleaner or dry cleaner experienced with natural sheepskin.

STORING
• Store rugs rolled (not folded), upright, in a cool and dry place when not in use.
